Provo Tabernacle

So as most of you know the Provo Tabernacle burned down about 6 months ago. It was really deviating because I have so many fond memories of that building.

This is a picture of the building after the fire.

I found this picture on flickr

Attention Memory Lane:

About 2 months after Patrick and I started dating he had to do a German choir concert. He was required to do it because of a German class that he was in.  It was fun to go and see him sitting on the stand singing. He's actually pretty good...surprisingly.

Anyway the day that it burned down I felt so grateful that a few months before (april 2010) I was in downtown Provo shooting pictures for an Panorama HDR. I chose to do downtown Provo of the main street and of University Ave standing on the tabernacle lawn. It actually turned out really really cool. I digress because that's not what this post is about.

Since I was down there I decided to walk around the tabernacle and take some pictures. I thought it would be fun to do a panorama of the tabernacle, but I never found the time to finish the panorama and ended up forgetting about the pictures. Isn't that how it always is. You forget until you really need them.

The day it burned down I went searching for the pictures. But I couldn't find them I looked and looked and looked, but in vain I never found them. It was really sad and I think I might have even shed a tear or two over it. I thought they were gone and that I didn't have anything to remember the tabernacle.

. . .until the other day. I was looking for another picture and was looking in an obscure file and finally found the pictures.

I don't know how they found there way there. I had taken the pictures in April 2010 but the pictures were dated as September 18. The file was actually a hidden file that I had found somehow. It was just weird. So today I present to you my pictures of the Provo tabernacle.

I have not photoshopped the images in any way...that's why they seem a little flat and dull. I love Photoshop. I might do something cool with them and print them later but not today.

Okay...so this one was too dark.

I hope you like them :)

Our Jaunt to Park City

I totally forgot about these pictures and I thought it was so cute I had to share the story.

A few weeks ago we decided to go up to Park City and take advantage of the outlet mall and it's major 4th of July sale. After the mall we drove to main street to find a place to eat. As we were walking up the road Audrey noticed a moose and said "I want to take a picture with Daddy. Mommy you take the picture and Daddy come here."

How could I say no. So these are the pictures I got.

Picture 1 instagramed - It totally makes a super cute photo even cuter.

This picture was my attempt at getting the moose in the shot. I couldn't move back any farther there was a car in the way.

Instagram

I found out about this app from a the blog Kevin and Amanda and I thought it was a pretty cool app. I've not had time to go out and take some pictures. These are some that I did from pictures that I already had on my phone. It sort of makes a pretty cool old effect.

This one I grabbed from my office. This is the view from my desk.

I think it's fun.

Anyone Want a Free Blog Design?

I sort of want to extend an invitation to my friends and family. I am uber bored at work right now...it's really slow in the summer months. If anyone would like me to create a simple blog look for them let my know by leaving a comment or emailing me a look that you would like me to emulate...don't make me recreate someone's design that's just not cool.

You can see my stuff at Loving Life Designs. Look under the Blog Designs Link.

I've only really done a few but I'm pretty good (decent might be the better word) at the HTML thing. I'm only really good at blogger - mainly because that is the only CMS platform I have ever used. I'm learning wordpress and joomla right now but it's a little slow since I am currently reading a book about it. So if you have a blog other than blogger I don't know if I could do it. Maybe when I get more experienced at it I could create one on another platform.

Matt is on a Mission

It's so weird that Matt is on a mission. I'm so proud of my baby brother. He is going to be serving in the Ogden, Utah mission he'll be speaking Spanish. He'll be in the MTC for 2 months.

Hey, Tremonton Fam...Look out for an Elder Griffin.

Here are some pictures I got of him about an hour before he went into the Missionary Training Center.

Matt and Audrey

I love this one! both of them are looking to the left.

This is just way too cute. How she turned around and Matt is looking at her. LOVE it!

This is my Favorite of the two of them.

 Sam and Matt
I love these pictures of Sam and Matt. They have such a special bond it's so cute. I asked them to act like they loved one another and to hug and these were the looks that ensued.

Oh MATT! look at the camera!

Veniece, Matt and Sam
Dad was driving back up to Salt Lake because they had left Matt's immunization records at Veniece's moms house.
