Check it!
The other day i decided to change the look of the blog. Maybe get a new background image and a new header. But I couldn't find one that i was absolutely in love with. There were none that i could see that screamed Patrick, Elizabeth and Audrey Spencer.
I was looking around at the various blog template sites. I searched www.thecutestblogontheblock.com, www.pimp-my-profile.com and www.bloggerbuster.com. Blogger buster is where i found my last template and i really like that one. But, again, it was time for a change but i wanted to keep my 3 column template. I've really come to enjoy the 3 columns and didn't want to give it up. So in my search i came across this article, at Blogger buster, titled "Creating a three column (or a wide 2 column) canvas" (here is the link http://www.bloggerbuster.com/2008/01/creating-three-column-or-wide-two.html). It was instructions on how to rewrite the HTML from a 2 column template and make it a 3 column.
So I tired it. I created a fake blog to test my designs so that i wasn't ruining my real blog and started playing with it. After i successfully completed that i found another article and another teaching me how to essentially design my own blog. After 3 or 4 lessons. I felt I had it down and started experimenting on my own. But you have to keep in mind about 3 years ago i had to take a web design class for my major. It was a required course. So i have had experience with writing HTML. I just needed a refresher. But, I don't claim to be an expert. At most i am advanced novice.
So what you see is what i created. I made the background and put it in. I chose the color scheme. (I love it). I made the choice to have dotted lines surrounding my side bars and main area. I went in and made it so that larger dots were separating the different post. I decided to have my post titles uppercase. I made the lady bugs and put them in. They were small changes but they were my changes. Now i have a blog that is completely mine. I designed it. You may not like it. But i love it.
I think I'll keep experimenting.
Just one of those small victories.
Love,
Elizabeth, Patrick and Audrey

Primary vs. Nursery
Audrey is the funniest little thing.
While at church, yesterday, Patrick was walking Audrey to nursery. Now you have to understand one thing. In our old ward building primary was on one side and nursery was on the other. We never once had to pass the primary to get to nursery. So Audrey never knew there was another room of kids. In our new building the two are in the same hall. and depending on how you leave the chapel you might pass the primary or you might not. Yesterday we had to pass primary. upon seeing all the kids in the primary Audrey ran into the room. Patrick quickly grabbed her arm and told her she was too young to be there. But that didn't matter all she understood it as was she was not allowed to go to nursery. And she just started crying and crying. We tried to explain to her that we were on our way to nursery but she wasn't listening.
When we got down the hall to nursery she was still crying and was even crying when she was placed in the room. The only thing that calmed her down was when the teacher placed a big pile of gold fish crackers in front of her on the table. After that she was fine. From what Patrick said the teachers said she was an angel.
I just think it is so cute that she was so excited about nursery that she was upset when she was told she couldn't go. I hope this continues.

Sorry
I really am sorry that i have not posted anything for a while. I guess when the wedding was finally over things started to slow down...but, it didn't halt. We're still trotting along. Me working, Patrick going to school and Audrey terrorizing the apartment...
Guess what that little angel [devil] did last night. A few days ago audrey took a marker to one of the doors and created some very nice audrey art. Patrick wasn't sure how to get it off and left it there til i got home. I sat her down next to the door and explained to her we don't draw on the door. I then started to wipe the mess up with a baby wipe.
She [audrey] so much wants to help and be like mommy. Sometimes it too hard to be mad. You just have to laugh it off.
Last night she took a marker and a wipe and started to draw on the door and then promptly started to wipe it up with the baby wipe. Once she felt she had cleaned it enough. she started to draw again. She stopped when patrick noticed her. By the way we have it all on camera. I'll post it some time. (it is now posted)
Any way...back to what i was saying....not enough was happening for me to write anything. Or at least i did not think it was note worthy. I guess you'll just have to decide for yourself. I guess i'm just going to have to come up with a story from the mundane.
The Wednesday after the wedding grandma went back to California to prep for her surgery. (Knee replacement...go grandma!) I believe it is taking place on the 18th. Mom is flying out on the 17th to drive her to the hospital.
We were going to go down to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. But about 30 minutes before we were going to leave audrey vomited all over patrick and the couch. We decided that a 5 hour drive was not worth the fussy child and the chance that she would throw up again. So we didn't go down. We ate at moms and it was good.
And really that is it.
I can't think of anything else that has happened in the last few days.
I'll keep thinking.

Sad Day
So we have very very bad news. The newest member of the family passed away yesterday. Yes, Remy is not longer with us. Poor thing. He was running around yesterday morning but he wasn't in the afternoon.
We decided that Audrey is a little too young to understand death. And since she has conveniently forgotten about the little guy. We didn't tell her what happened. I distracted her while Patrick took the cage outside and threw it away. I think we'll get her a new one in a few years. I do feel bad that we threw away the cage but we just don't have any storage space for the cage. We'll just get a new one if we get another hamster.
Thanks mom for the really great gift. We really did like him.
I just feel like it's my fault. I feed him and gave him water, and cleaned his home. but i haven't tried to play with him in a while because every time i tried to put him in his little ball it would take 10 minutes to catch him. So i just gave up after a while. I just don't think he was a happy hamster. Lately he hasn't been running on his wheel. I should have known something was up when he didn't run in it any more.
I guess you could say the little guys life was doomed from the start. Ever since we got him every time we see Michelle or mom they both ask if the little thing is alive. You just can't have high hopes for a hamsters life when people are always asking if it is still alive.
Patrick says that i should not feel guilty. But it's hard not too.
I guess you can say this has been an exciting week. Michelle gets married and i kill a hamster.
Sad.

Elizabeth, Patrick and Audrey.

Catch up
I need to play catch up.
The weekend after California. I was again off for the south this time on a big chartered bus with a bunch of teenagers. Yep, it was Marching band tour.
It was a great experience. We left Thursday afternoon and made it to St. George and spent the night there. (the best part about the trip down was about 30 minutes after patrick dropped me off at the bus he called and asked if he should just drive the car down. And then we remembered that the timing belt needs to be replaced before we go on a long trip. So mom volunteered her car. and the plans were set and then he decided that it just was not worth the money if he was not going to see me very much. Anyway the funny thing was that when i told Jared [timpanogos's band director] he laughed and said that he [patrick] didn't even make it two hours on his own.) in the end patrick did well and was alone with audrey for almost 72 hours. good job babe.
On Friday we had a competition at the State Championships Timpanogos took home the guard caption the visual performance caption and the music caption. We just didn't take home the percussion. And then we took first. It was a great way to end our utah season.
The next day we went to Vegas and competed in a BOA (bands of America) competition. BOA is run a lot different than utah's organization. i won't go into it but the biggest difference is that you are not classes by band size, like in utah, you are classed by school size. Timp is a big school and we were in the biggest class competiting against people with 300 or more students. (go our lowly 27 students) But it was awsome. We saw the best of the best in the south west. Just amazing. The chance to see those bands was worth the trip.
We were the smallest band to compete at BOA and out of 24 bands we took 18th. Hey we didn't come in dead last. I know...Right!
Then then there was Halloween. And yes i have pictures....at mom's. I'll get those up here. But mom and Katherine were the ones to take audrey because Patrick and I spent the evening packing for our move the next day. Yep we moved from the crappy crappy starcrest apartment to an amazingly great place. we are so excited about this. We have been there for 4 days and just love it.
The layout is the exact same but everything is new. (carpet, doors, entire kitchen.) it's just a great place. I'll get some pictures for you. We are not entirly moved in we still have a ton of boxes to go through in our room and audrey's but the living room and kitchen are unpacked and if we want to feel moved in we just shut the doors and the mess goes away.
I think we are caught up now. I am sorry for the readers digest version. I just didn't want the events to keep backing up. but now everyone knows why i have been so busy and have not been about to post much.

The Remainder of California
Oh my goodness so much has happened that i don't think i have enough finger strength to tell you what has happened.
Last i left off on was leaving for California. That Thursday mom and i didn't do too much. I slept a few hours while Audrey napped and then i think we went to the mall to check out bridesmaid dresses. Wohoo what an amazing day. We did do one big errand we went to Joannes and found things to decorate michelles wedding boxes with. I really think we picked something good. Friday was about the same. A nap and some walking around the mall and box making. Saturday we went to johns football game. We only really stayed for the first half of the game because it was way way too hot out and it was audrey's nap time. But mom and i we're very proud that grandma made it out of the house for a little while. And she did really we'll with the walking to and from the football field. Sunday was another day of not much too do. But we did make a trip to the World War II museum out in Camarillo. I always love going out to that museum. It's so fun to see all the planes and the big C-46 "The China Lily."
On Monday we made our way back to utah. this time the plane left at 6:30. and we left on time and made it there right on time. But the funny thing was, and mom and i were so amazed about it, the freeway was jam packed at 5:00 in the morning in L.A. there was no traffic jam, we were at free way the entire time. But it was still odd that there were so many people on the road at that time. Must be all those big time movie stars getting to work early.
All in all it was fun and we had a great trip

Our journey to Califronia
Mom and I made a trip out to california this weekend to visit great grandma cannon.
Our flight was at 6:10 on Thursday morning. That meant we needed to be up no later than 4 to be out the door before 4:30 so that we could leave mom's by 4:40. Well, we all know mom and we didn't get out the door until closer to 5:00. (i think we actually left a little after 5) We originally thought that the flight left at 6:30 so we were in no big hurry. Then I looked at the ticket and found out that we were leaving at 6:10 . That was not a good moment, by the way.
We ended up getting to the airport at about 5:4o (go speedy). Mom took advantage of not having a 1 and a half year old and ran the entire way to the plane and made it just as they were calling our boarding party. I however was unable to run too fast with a stroller, a diaper bag, and my own bag. I got there when they were calling out the B boarding group and i walked right on the plane. no waiting. how awesome is that!
Once on the plane the stewardist told me that i had to have audrey on my lap during take off. Audrey had other plans and was not too happy about having to be on my lap for that long of a period of time and decided to release her frustrations by crying. And mind you she does not have a quiet cry. About 15 minutes after take off she was still crying sitting in the seat next to be (by that time i had moved her off my lap.) i asked if she wanted to fall asleep in my arms. She gave a little nod and crawled into my lap and then fell asleep for the remainder of the flight. Which then gave me an opprotunity to sleep. (It was nice.)
from door to door..including sitting at a stop in traffic for about 25 minutes..the journey only took about 5 and a half hours. Not bad.
By the way just a reminder never stop for something to eat at the McDonalds close to LAX. (we wanted to get audrey some pancakes to munch on while we drove to grandmas') Mom and I were approached by a guy claiming that he had just gotten out of prison and was looking for something to eat. Not wanting to create anything we bought him some pancakes.
My theory is that he approached us because we were two women, who obviously looked like we came from LAX and since we had a baby in the car, we would be too afraid to refuse him. Which is true. I don't think he would have approached us if Patrick was in the car. Next time we'll head down the 405 a little bit before grabbing something to eat.

Go Guard....and band.
So Marching band competitions are finally upon us. This month I'm going to a little short on posts because i'll have my mind on other things.
We'll i have some good news. Timpanogos Color Guard (the team i teach) took the caption at the Nebo competition last Saturday (yes general conference. I have not watched a full general conference in years. I have a marching band competition on the fall sessions and i have the winter guard championships on the weekend of the spring sessions. I do TiVo the sessions but since i've had Audrey it's hard to watch them after. She won't let me sit and pay attention to the T.V for such a long period of time. but it's okay i like reading it more anyway i always get more out of the talk when i read it. So i am anxious for the November Ensign general conference issue. But it is sad when at church people ask if i caught so and so's talk and i have to say I didn't. I always feel like a heathen) and the band took first place in our division and took home the outstanding musical performance caption. ( FYI there are 5 divisions in marching band 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A. now some people think that what division you are in is dependent on how large the school is like in football, and basketball and other sports. but it's not it is totally dependent on how large the band is. Our band has 27 students [sad] and so we are in the 1A division the smallest there is.)
And yesterday the guard again took the caption in our division and the band took 2nd. Now the interesting thing is that the guard's score beat those that were in the 2A division. It was a pretty cool moment when i found that out. But I'm assuming it was a fluke incident and that they won't let that happen again on Saturday. But it is pretty cool for the next few days.

Zoo

So we went to the Zoo this weekend. Audrey had the greatest time. She was laughing and laughing with her freaky laugh. I'm serious it's strange. She sounds like a little devil child. I'll try to get video of it some time.

There were only a few animals that really excited her. All the big cats and then the red panda. I guess some funny incident happened while Audrey was looking at the red panda. I'll try to explain it the best i can but i wasn't around for it. there wasn't enough room so i sat down on a bench a little ways away and didn't see it.

Isn't he cute? ( I did not take that picture)
The red panda was inside it's cage and Audrey had her head pressed up against the glass and was laughing the devil laugh as it walked around. As she was doing this a little boy not much older, maybe a year or so, looked at her and said "SHHHHH! this is not a game." (I guarantee that little guy has been told that a million times.) and then he proceeded to blow air on her. No one knows for certain why. The air was what caught Audrey's attention and she turned around and said "Hi" in her little high pitched voice. Apparently it was pretty funny. I think if you want the real story and not the readers digest you would have to ask Patrick or Michelle to re tell the story. I guarantee Michelle's story would be better. Sorry Patrick.
There was one big cat, i think it was a leopard, that was taking a nap right next to the glass window. Audrey was going bonkers running away from the cat and then back and yelling "Kitty, Kitty, Kitty!" when there was a crowd looking at the cat she would find a way to push herself to the front and look at the cat. It was really cute. She loves her kitties and will do anything and everything to get near them.
The other thing that Audrey loved was the carousel and the train ride. Grandma took her on both. She had a lot of fun.It was a good day and we all had a really fun time. Although we were super tired when we got home. I think we'll have to go a few more times next summer.
Love,
Elizabeth, Patrick and Audrey

by the way, Dan and Michelle are crazy. This is the picture they leave on the camera every time they hold it for a few minutes.
Cute Outfit
Arlene and J.R. sent Audrey the cutest outfit. Thank you so much. I thought that i had a picture of her in it. I must have thought I took the picture even though i didn't. Next time she wears it I'll throw the picture up.

It's Official
The Hamsters name is Remy.
I really like the name and love the movie. I think it was one of the best movies that came out last year. (I finally saw No Country for Old Men. hated it! That's a little harsh....I liked it, I never Loved it, till the end. Then i Hated it. I could go on forever about that. But I won't just to save you.)
So I loved Stephanie's confessions post and it has inspired me to make some confessions of my own. That will come in a little while. I can't spill all the beans about how crazy i am now.
But one confession i do have. and I'm sure there are plenty of people who will Booooo this but...I like Family Guy. (However they do give the Griffin's a bad name.) I was watching an episode the other day and came across this clip and I just thought it was too funny not to share considering the present we just got. I hope you like it.

3 year Anniversary
So today is the day. 3 years! wow where has the time gone?
In celebration of the day I just wanted to share some of the major moments in the last 3 years.

Today is our anniversary and not much is going on. I took two days off last week and decided not to take today off. Patrick had class at 4 and went to 9. But he did get out early and so we called Katherine and she was willing to come and watch Audrey for an hour so we could go and get something to eat. We went to ihop. (ihop has a lot of fond memories for us and we wanted to re live them. while we were dating and even before we had Audrey we would go and do the midnight ihop run. Sometimes with friend and sometimes alone. And we went there to eat right after Patrick spontaneously proposed, without a ring. That was in March and the official proposal, with a ring, was in May.)
anyway i'm sure your bored.
If i have left anything major out please let me know.

Tennis Shoes
About 6 weeks ago I started working out at Curves.
I love it in case you want to know.
To help remind me to go I have my tennis shoes and socks next to the front door.
Audrey has watched me put the shoes and socks on and this is what we caught her doing yesterday with them.

She put my socks on which go up to her rear end and then she put my shoes on.
I just wanted to share the picture with you.

A gift?
I have another wonderful Sunday story.
Yesterday was Regional Conference. And Although they were broadcasting it to most of the stake centers around to make it easier for families patrick and I decided that going was not the best option considering we both would have chosen to leave early because Audrey hates to be stuck in the same place for an extended amount of time. And it would have just been a frustrating experience. (don't judge me!)
But we needed to get out of the house somehow. All morning audrey had been carrying around a stuffed shark and exclaiming in a very very loud voice that it was a fishy. She was telling all who could hear all about her fishy fish. (Now Audrey has a really hard time saying her "F" sound she says it more of a "PH" sound and excentuates the "P" sound. So if you listen very very close it almost sounds like Witchy with a "B". It's Pretty funny but i don't want others to think i've taught her a bad word so we've been working on the "F" sound a lot!)
Anyway, Since she was so excited about this fish we thought it might be a good idea to visit some fishes. Pet Mart is about a block away and wanting to get out of the house we made a trip over to look at the fishes.
She loved it. She ran up and down the wall screaming fishy fishy fishy. And when she found a particularly interesting fish she would say "WOW fishy". It was pretty cute.
We then made our way around the rest of the store and saw all the other animals. The other animal she love to look at was the hamster. She would just scream whenever they would run around the cage. Good thing that we were the only people in there or we would have been annoying a lot of people.
After pets mart we needed to make a stop at moms to pick something up that we had forgotten. While over there we related to her all the details of the trip to pets mart. After about and hour or so we left to put audrey down for a nap and so that we could take our sunday nap (yes, the are a time honored tradition in this Spencer household.)
When we went back over for dinner later that evening this is what was sitting on the kitchen counter.

So that is the story of how we got
Remy-Buddy-Lemmiwinks-Scarface the hamster.
Thank you Grandma Cannon :)

Falling Asleep
On Sunday church starts at 11:00.
Audrey's mid day nap is at 11:30.
For all parents out their you know what that means.
All i can say is thank goodness for Nursery Teachers. It is so nice to drop her off after sacrament meeting and go enjoy my two wonderful hours of peace. Nursery teachers must be angels in hiding.
Now that you have a little bit of background info about our sundays here is what happened this last week.
We get out at 2:10 (yeah for Relief Society) and make the short walk home (about 2 minutes). I decide that it would be a good idea to feed audrey before her nap so that she can sleep longer. Her normal nap length is 2 hours. if she does not eat lunch or something right before it drops to about and hour.
I wanted my sunday nap as well and wanted her to sleep as long as possible. i placed her in her high chair and handed her a sippy of milk and give her a cracker or two to munch on while i finished her meal (PPJ).
As soon as i finished I gave her the sandwich. At first she seemed very interested in the sandwich but she never started to eat it she just stared. I walked away for a few minutes to go and get something from the bedroom and when i came back I saw that she was starting to nod off. So i ran to get the camera and these are the pictures that i got.

Awesome.....right?
I think it's so cute that she feel asleep in her high chair. She's never done that before.

Elizabeth, Patrick and Sleepy.

Park City and the Alpine Slides
This Last weekend Dad and Veniece made a trip up here to celebrate Katherine's Graduation from BYU. (Go Graduate! Good thing the divinity school is out of her system or it would have called for more mocking.)
For part of the celebration we went to Chef's Table here in Orem. Very good and very expensive. I loved the food. Now I do have one problem with the whole night. I thought everyone knew that rare, medium and well done mean totally different things in a fancy restaurant compared to a Chili's or a Mimi's. But apparently Michelle does not understand this concept. Because she decided that her medium stake was too rare. (Come on patrick even ate his "well done" pink meat with no complaint) and she sent it back. Well the Chef happened to over hear this and was not happy. I seriously thought that the man was going to throw all of us out. I was afraid for my life and was trying to imagine audrey growing up parentless. I was so scared that i did not make eye contact with the wait staff for the rest of the night. I stared blankly at my food. I kept imagining the little chef from Ratatouille. I wouldn't want to cross that guys path and he was a cartoon. Whatever I'm just not going to go to a fancy restaurant with Michelle ever again. (sorry dude, you blew it!)
Anyway, She sent it back. And like i said he was not happy. But for some wonderful reason Veniece has a way with people and made the whole thing blow over. Snaps for Veniece. But i swear that man was giving our table to evil eye for the remainder of the evening and I'm sure the wait staff was not excited about us. I can guarantee the chef had some choice words for all of them even if it wasn't their fault.
The next day we headed up to Park City to play on the Alpine Slides. It was loads of fun. i just wish that audrey was old enough to go up the lift. You have to be 2 to ride the lift and 3 to ride the slide. but the little monster would have wiggled out and fallen to her death if she had ridden it. I know that sounds morbid and it is but she would have. She can not hold still for that long. We'll have to wait a few more years before she rides that thing. and i'm sure by then we'll have another terror of a child and have to wait even longer. (Patrick and I have a theory as to why god gave us such a rambunctious child. I think he looked at the two of us planning our family and said "you know what you're not going to be the most awesome at this parenting thing so i'll send you this little spirit that is like 3 kids in one and you'll feel like you have a complete family. "guess what it worked. We have no plans for any more child rearing. at least for now. Now i don't want to hear anyone saying "Awe liz that's not true." because it totally is!)
I digress.
So since the monster could not go up the lift dad bought her a pack of tickets to all the kiddy rides. I know.....right! you have to pay for a one and half year old to ride a ride! She loved them. At first she was afraid of them but since there were three and we had ten tickets she got to ride everything several times. She loved the merry go round and she also enjoyed the planes. I have pictures of her on the plane and a video on the merry go round but the battery died while we were there and didn't get anymore pictures.

i haven't been to the slides in so many years. When we went it was not the thing to do. and it didn't cost an arm and a leg to do it. But the old slides are still there and they have added 2 new ones. But the old ones are still the best because they are tin and not plastic and the thing slides down them much much faster. Plus their old and old things are always more dangerous and that's what makes them fun.
They have added 2 new attractions the zip line (which patrick and i did not go on because it was over and hour and half wait.) and a roller coaster. Matthew and few others seemed to like the coaster better. But i'm stuck in my ways and love the slides. Too bad they slowed down the lift. I think we would have gone more but it took so long to get up there for a 2 minute ride. Oh well I still loved it.

Thank you dad and Venice for an awesome weekend.

Elizabeth, Patrick and Audrey.

Man Hole Cover
So i realized that i didn't tell everyone about this. A few weeks ago patrick and i were driving across the freeway on university parkway toward the lake.
Someone had gone into the middle lane and hit a man hole cover that popped up and came flying at us. It bounced off the pavement a few time and then hit the car on the driver side back door. thank goodness the cover was on it's way down or it would have crashed through the window and hit Audrey. Scary!

Anyway, Due to street bureaucrats we have been back and forth between orem city and Udot trying to figure out who's fault it is. turns out noone wants to take the blame. Annoying! we have to file a complaint with Udot and Orem city and hope that one finally takes the blame. Other wise it's our responsiblility. the repairs are at at total of $1100-$1200. But with insurance it will be a $500 dollar deductible. In other words if someone doesn't take the blame we'll be waiting a very long time to get the car fixed.
I'm annoyed about the whole thing.

Signs, Sounds and Words
Lately Patrick and I have noticed how easy it is to communicate with Audrey. She has learned lots of words. Most of them she can sort of speak but she knows a lot of them in sign language. And i just wanted to take the opportunity to tell you some of the words that she knows.
Here is a list of words that she knows how to say. (I know there are more but I can't think of anymore)

- She loves to play peek a boo. And will mimic the inflection in my voice for the words peek a boo.
- She will grab the brush and start to brush her hair.
- she loves to sing. and Sings whenever the radio is on.
- If she has soiled herself (and she notices) she will go and get a diaper and the wipes and will lay down with the two items in hand. If she doesn't notice she will go and get the diaper when asked to do so.
- (I love this) Every morning after i pull her out of the crib she will walk into the living room and lay down next to the cubby that holds the diapers and wipes. First thing! I love it!
- If you give her something and ask her to she will throw it away. I don't throw diapers away any longer. she is happy to run it over to the garbage and put it in. She will find trash and throw it away with out asking. And she even creates trash (a.k.a she will find a perfectly good piece of paper and rip it up just so she can throw it away.)
- When she wants to go outside she will say shoes and then go find everyones shoes. then she will find our cell phones, give it to us and then she will say outside and go stand next to the door.
- She will fold her arms and say a little prayer. Sometimes her prayer will be after family prayer. Sometimes it will be during. All that matters is she is learning to pray.
- Her movies are on the lower shelf of the DVD stand. She will walk over to the stand and pick out one of her movies and bring it to us so that she can watch it. She really loves little mermaid.
- She loves to jabber on our cell phone. She'll go and get them and act as though she is having a conversation with someone on the other line. I think it's cute.
- If you ask she will show you where her belly button is and her head. We've been working on toes for a while but she hasn't caught on to that

Annoyed
I've been trying to put pictures up from past events but every time i try and upload the pictures from my camera to iphoto, iphoto crashes. It happened 5 times last night. I had to turn the computer off once. I think we need to reinstall the program because it's been acting odd for the last little while.
So when i get pictures from my camera on to my computer i'll have pictures on the website.
Elizabeth :)

Happy Birthday to Grandma/mom
Happy Birthday to Grandam/mom
Happy Birthday to Grandma/mmmmoooommmm
Happy Birthday to you.
You are officially a half century old. Congratulations.
I hope you enjoyed your surprise party. a lot of effort went into it. (Don't thank every daughter! trust me!) As you can see i have some problems with some of the members of the party planning committee. Someone (who shall remain nameless) was to wrapped up in her wedding plans that is 3 and a half months away. She could have spent sometime thinking about her mother. I'm a little ticked about the problem. But she did find her wedding dress, on sale might i add. It was the last day of the sale. So snaps for nameless.
yeah we had a surprise party for mom. I think she was really surprised. She said she thought we only invited camille to a family dinner. Wrong. I invited everyone i could think of. Camille and tow were there, Carla was there, the Daleys, the lemens, Marlene, and a whole bunch of people from guard, Carrie and nate came, Kyle came, Luca came, Joyce was there, carmell and Janice came, and now i'm forgetting. Oh well, thank you everyone for being there. We had fun. I think there was over 40 people in the house at one time. Cool.
By the way, Justin Anderson is awesome. He was the one who came up with our plan to get mom out of the house. you see, he is from Layton and borrowed some costumes for her and needed to return them. So he made up a lie ( I don't know if it was a lie) but he said that he had an uncle in American Fork and that he was going to visit him. So we met him in American Fork and he Stalled her. I actually don't think that it's too hard for him to distract mom. I think the two of them can talk for hours about guard. I actually had to mention that we had dinner waiting and that we needed to leave. But it was an awesome decoy.
Anyway mom don't have a mid life crisis or anything you have done a lot in this life time. A whole lot more than i could ever boast. You are have a masters degree and you are a well respected advisor and teacher at UVU. You have three annoying children. One Married, One Engaged and One with a bachelors Degree and who will be soon going to grad school. And you have an amazing granddaughter who loves to be around you. And a million other things. But, I don't want to say everything or people are going to get jealous.
Anyway I'll say goodbye now.
Love,
Elizabeth, Patrick and Audrey
P.S. I promise I'll get some photo's up here ASAP

Update
Well, It certainly has been a long time.
I didn't realize that the last entry was nearly a month ago.
Sorry.
Well there are several things that you need to be updated on
1. Utah Valley State College is no longer around. GO Utah Valley University.
2. The fourth of July was Awesome. Patrick and I ended up deciding that going to the Stadium of Fire was not going to be the greatest idea because Audrey would not have appreciated sitting in the same spot for so long. You see the week before on the 30th was UVUphoria. It was a celebration for the College becoming a University. We ended up leaving the concert early because Audrey was being a brat (like normal) and could not sit still and she was frustrated and we were frustrated and plus the thing was really boring.
They had three country singers and each played a full hours set. It was not awesome. Plus the American idol guy Josh Gracin kept singing other peoples songs. Now i freely admit that i do not like country and if I know that you are playing someone else's music you most likely shouldn't be doing it. Because it's not cool. But who can blame him the guy is used to singing others songs. That's how he got his start.
Anyway i digress from my story. Where was I....Right, We decided not to go because of UVUphoria. Also Katherine and Michelle decided that they didn't want to deal with Audrey and they didn't want her to go. So after telling mom and going through a pretty tense day we sold our tickets. It actually didn't take very long to sell them. I think i sold them off of craigslist in about a half hour. I know.....Right?
On the 4th i still helped mom with the parade and actually walked it to because of the marching band. Which was great if you enjoy walking in 100 degree weather and not drinking enough water. (I got a dehydration headache after. Drank about 5 glasses of water took a pill and a nap later was feeling great.) After the nap we went to moms for our BBQ. After that we went to the Festival down at the Provo City Center. That was cool. Got an awesome parking spot because of Katherine's apartment. Hooray for Katherine and the vulture House. Again we ended up leaving that pretty soon too because Audrey was not a happy camper and wanted a nap.
So went home for another nap. Now normally Audrey doesn't really want to take so many naps but the poor think was out in the sun so much that day. She really hated us.
After that everyone went to the Stadium of Fire and Patrick and I went home. Now I was okay with the fact that i did not get to see the Stadium of Fire Fire works. (by they way they are awe...wait for it.....some!) I really love those things and really wanted to see them.
I know what you are thinking. You can see the same fireworks for free. No you don't! it is a totally different experience in the stadium and i love it. i get all patriotic because of the music and start to cry. Yes, I cry! Don't judge me. It is not like the free ones you get too see from the hill. TRUST ME!!!
That next day Katherine and Michelle go off about how awesome it was and the Miley was actually okay and that they had so much fun singing all the songs and that blue man group was amazing and the fireworks were the biggest that they had seen in a long time and on and on and on And then get this they said. "you should have come!"
WHAT!!!!!
I sold my ticket because you didn't want Audrey there. Don't say things like that!!! Whatever I don't care!..........actually I do. Katherine and Michelle you suck!
3. Audrey did not get kicked out of day care. Thank you everyone for your advise. We ended up bringing oral gel to the daycare and they give it to her everyday after her nap. And we bring Pinks (her teddy bear. thank you Kaylee) every day so that she has something to cuddle. She loves that bear. I think it's time to buy a new pinks and slowly phase this old one out. The poor thing is so dirty. She must drag the thing through the dirt while out in the play yard. I swear I'm washing it at least twice a week. No more about pinks. she didn't get kicked out and that is what matters.
4. TEXAS!!! We just got back from Texas on Monday and had the greatest time. Dad and Veniece thanks for spending the money to get us out there. We really appreciated it. I think I'll talk a little more about that later. My hands are getting tired of typing.

Horrible News
I just got a phone call from patrick saying that audrey has been put on a 2 week probation. If she doesn't stop bitting in that period of time they are going to kick her out of daycare.
I don't know what to do and welcome any and all advise.

Carrie and Nate Gross Wedding
Last saturday was Carrie and Nates wedding (Finally!)
I've got lots and lots of thoughts running through my head about this union it's crazy! I'm just so excited about it for a number of reasons.
1. Carrie is married
2. Carrie is married to an awesome guy (Really really awesome)
3. she moved into my ward
4. she is like 5 doors down
5. Carrie is married.
Okay so it wasn't a whole bunch of thoughts but mainly the fact is she is married and in my ward. Yeah! I get see her!
Anyway yeah for the rejoicing part!
I now can see why people have their wedding reception the night before the actually temple wedding. The whole day was so full of drama it was intense. I do not wish to go into major detail about the whole thing but i do not think that someones special day has ever had so much drama.
The two of them are perfect for one another and deserve all the happiness in the world.

- Sisters trying to steal thunder: julie and ray (mean girl in orange shirt is what i call her.)
- Julie got married 2 weeks before carrie and was engaged 2 months after her. (Not cool)
- Photographer shows up an hour and a half late to the temple. (thank goodness Michelle brought her camera)
- People were not listening to the directions michelle and i were trying to give and people started b*%#@ back. Like we have ever done a wedding before and it was on the spot mind you!
- finally guy shows up and tells carrie and nate that he will not be at the reception
- Nate and carrie ask michelle to take them at the reception
- family is not set up in time for the reception and miss the time allotted for good family portraits at the reception. carrie did not get the one picture she really wanted. one with all her sisters. and none of them really didn't seem to care.
- limo shows up 35 minutes late after everyone has left the reception. in other words they did not get to have that big fun send off.
- limo dude barley speaks a word of english and has a chick in the front seat of the limo.
The two of them are perfect for one another and deserve all the happiness in the world.

Long time
Wow
It's been a while since i last posted
A couple of things have happened in the last little while. (and i have pictures to prove it!)
At the museum they had several workstations for kids to play with things. Audrey really only appreciated one of the workstations. At this particular station she was able to dress up like a dinosaur and then she was able to play with a big cut out puzzle game where she needed to find the right hole to fit the dinosaur through. She wasn't actually finding the right hole but i was surprised with how many dinosaurs she was able to fit into the one hole she was focused on. It was really interesting to watch. She had to twist the different dinosaurs to fit into her hole and she was able to get everyone of them through the one hole. leave it to my kid to be the one to cheat at a puzzle game. I think that was one of her favorite places. Actually i think she threw a tantrum when we decided to leave. Yes, the terrible two's hit early. (yesterday at church she threw 5 tantrums in 5 minutes. one of them was because i wouldn't let her run into the street. We went home. We were at church for 60 minutes or so and i have no idea what was being said at the pulpit because she was so crazy. at least we got the sacrament.)
There was a sand and water workstation where you build damns and then build your valley and then destroy the damn and watch the water destroy your valley. I thought it was cool. Audrey on the other hand didn't like all the sand and how it got her dirty. She's fine getting spaghetti sauce all over her but heaven forbid she gets sand on her hands.
We had fun and suggest the trip to the museum if anyone is looking for something to do this summer.
We really have not done too much the last few weeks because of playoffs. The pistons and the red wings.
Stupid Pistons!
Yeah Red Wings! Last week they won their 11th Stanley cup! Patrick was really excited and wanted to fly out to Detroit to participate in the celebration. like we have the money for that! Really!
Patrick says that he has come to terms with the pistons loss because he wants to see some change. since they lost they have fired their coach and are looking at other players. I just don't want to see Hamilton and Prince go. Everyone else can. ( I shouldn't even know names like that! I blame Patrick and for being such a sports nut. he is the only person i know who's moods are based only on sports teams. yes, it's true if his team loses he is in a fowl mood for the remainder of the day and maybe the next two. heaven forbid that there be a better team out there. I've decided not to be with him during this years upcoming BYU Utah game. I think i might just have to kick him out for a week if they lose. I call his condition sports-polar)
let me think what else has happened?
Carrie and Nate's wedding. But I'll talk about that later.
Elizabeth :)
