Park City and the Alpine Slides
This Last weekend Dad and Veniece made a trip up here to celebrate Katherine's Graduation from BYU. (Go Graduate! Good thing the divinity school is out of her system or it would have called for more mocking.)
For part of the celebration we went to Chef's Table here in Orem. Very good and very expensive. I loved the food. Now I do have one problem with the whole night. I thought everyone knew that rare, medium and well done mean totally different things in a fancy restaurant compared to a Chili's or a Mimi's. But apparently Michelle does not understand this concept. Because she decided that her medium stake was too rare. (Come on patrick even ate his "well done" pink meat with no complaint) and she sent it back. Well the Chef happened to over hear this and was not happy. I seriously thought that the man was going to throw all of us out. I was afraid for my life and was trying to imagine audrey growing up parentless. I was so scared that i did not make eye contact with the wait staff for the rest of the night. I stared blankly at my food. I kept imagining the little chef from Ratatouille. I wouldn't want to cross that guys path and he was a cartoon. Whatever I'm just not going to go to a fancy restaurant with Michelle ever again. (sorry dude, you blew it!)
Anyway, She sent it back. And like i said he was not happy. But for some wonderful reason Veniece has a way with people and made the whole thing blow over. Snaps for Veniece. But i swear that man was giving our table to evil eye for the remainder of the evening and I'm sure the wait staff was not excited about us. I can guarantee the chef had some choice words for all of them even if it wasn't their fault.
The next day we headed up to Park City to play on the Alpine Slides. It was loads of fun. i just wish that audrey was old enough to go up the lift. You have to be 2 to ride the lift and 3 to ride the slide. but the little monster would have wiggled out and fallen to her death if she had ridden it. I know that sounds morbid and it is but she would have. She can not hold still for that long. We'll have to wait a few more years before she rides that thing. and i'm sure by then we'll have another terror of a child and have to wait even longer. (Patrick and I have a theory as to why god gave us such a rambunctious child. I think he looked at the two of us planning our family and said "you know what you're not going to be the most awesome at this parenting thing so i'll send you this little spirit that is like 3 kids in one and you'll feel like you have a complete family. "guess what it worked. We have no plans for any more child rearing. at least for now. Now i don't want to hear anyone saying "Awe liz that's not true." because it totally is!)
I digress.
So since the monster could not go up the lift dad bought her a pack of tickets to all the kiddy rides. I know.....right! you have to pay for a one and half year old to ride a ride! She loved them. At first she was afraid of them but since there were three and we had ten tickets she got to ride everything several times. She loved the merry go round and she also enjoyed the planes. I have pictures of her on the plane and a video on the merry go round but the battery died while we were there and didn't get anymore pictures.

i haven't been to the slides in so many years. When we went it was not the thing to do. and it didn't cost an arm and a leg to do it. But the old slides are still there and they have added 2 new ones. But the old ones are still the best because they are tin and not plastic and the thing slides down them much much faster. Plus their old and old things are always more dangerous and that's what makes them fun.
They have added 2 new attractions the zip line (which patrick and i did not go on because it was over and hour and half wait.) and a roller coaster. Matthew and few others seemed to like the coaster better. But i'm stuck in my ways and love the slides. Too bad they slowed down the lift. I think we would have gone more but it took so long to get up there for a 2 minute ride. Oh well I still loved it.

Thank you dad and Venice for an awesome weekend.

Man Hole Cover
So i realized that i didn't tell everyone about this. A few weeks ago patrick and i were driving across the freeway on university parkway toward the lake.
Someone had gone into the middle lane and hit a man hole cover that popped up and came flying at us. It bounced off the pavement a few time and then hit the car on the driver side back door. thank goodness the cover was on it's way down or it would have crashed through the window and hit Audrey. Scary!

Anyway, Due to street bureaucrats we have been back and forth between orem city and Udot trying to figure out who's fault it is. turns out noone wants to take the blame. Annoying! we have to file a complaint with Udot and Orem city and hope that one finally takes the blame. Other wise it's our responsiblility. the repairs are at at total of $1100-$1200. But with insurance it will be a $500 dollar deductible. In other words if someone doesn't take the blame we'll be waiting a very long time to get the car fixed.
I'm annoyed about the whole thing.
