Final Project

Here is the final product for the Interaction Design Class.

I made tweaks since I last posted it, and I also had to make another Surface treatment. Hence surface treatment 1 and surface treatment 2.

Update on life

SCHOOL IS OFFICIALLY OVER...for me.

Patrick started his final semester this week. I can see light at the end of the tunnel. It's going to feel so good when he is finished. However we really don't know what is going to happen when he does graduate but it will be fun that he's done.

Audrey keeps calling me and Patrick teacher....It's a little depressing...but what am I going to do about it? I kindly remind her that I am mommy and not teacher and she cutely replies..."oh, right, mommy." or "oh. right, daddy." It's never been frustrating but it's still sad.

She has learned another song. If you're happy and you know it. She likes to sing the hooray verse. She looks like a cheerleader when singing it. super cute!

I went to El paso last week to surprise Michelle and Dan. It was fun to be there. We got there Thursday night and then Michelle had Virginia on Friday morning. I then left on Sunday afternoon.

These are some of the shots I snagged that weekend and actually used for my final project in my photography class.

I'll send all of them to Michelle so that she can have the pleasure of posting them on her blog. but I wanted to show you some of my favorites.

She really is a doll....but I don't want to spoil Michelle's fun by telling you about her. That's Michelle's job not mine. But she is really cute.

The trip was good. El Paso is a sad sad place....it's very dead. But they have a super awesome outlet mall that was 2 minutes away from our Hotel. Mom and I spent some time there on Saturday. Mainly shopping for Audrey and Virginia. They can't be spoiled enough. :) The Hotel was really nice it was a Hampton inn. I didn't get any shots of the Hotel...I should have it's practically new. Here's a link to the Hotels Site. Other than driving back and forth from the Hotel and the Hospital we didn't do much else. We tried to stay away so that Mom, Dad and Baby could have alone time but I figured I'm not going to see her very often I'm taking every chance I can get to see her. Sorry guys.

Other than that I don't think anything else has happened. I am happy that School is done. I finished last night at about 9 pm. I was so worried that I didn't get everything done that I was dreaming about missing assignments last night. UGH! I think this is how the grades will turn out. An A or A- in Digital Photography and Composition 2. If I get lower. I'll be pissed. Most likely an A- in Interaction Design. It could be a high B+. I don't know how we did on our final project. I think we did great. Then in Digital Media Project Management I'll be getting a B it could be a B+ if she is nice. I'm a little upset about the B. I've been averaging an A- on all assignments and tests. What's bringing me down is I missed 2.5 discussions, the class was an online course. I got 34 out of 42 in the discussions because one I was really sick and forgot and the other I can't remember. But the discussions are worth 45% of our grade. That means for every point you miss that's 1.07% of your grade gone. I don't think the dicussions should have that much weight on your final grade. It should be tests...which only accounts for 30% of the grade. teachers have so much power. ugh!

Another thing I am upset about is that we had to do an online reflect and share in the interaction design class. I thought I hit submit on the reflect and share but the computer must not have registered it...I don't know...I noticed it about day later and submitted the assignment late. I got a 7 out of 10 for it being late....I could understand losing 1 or 2 points but 3 I got a C on an assignment just because it was a few hours late. I hate grades and don't think they are fair...all the time, and I am going way way way off on a tangent. Ugh! I need to finish.

Austrailia hates me....

Apparently Deborah has not kept her word about getting me off the RBYC mailing list. Last week (april 22nd, to be precise) I received this email. From a man named Mark Seager.

It says....
Good morning gentlemen,

I would like to confirm that everyone is available for the protest hearing at 5.00 on Wednesday 28th of April in the committee room at RBYC. David Bingham of Mirrabooka has lodged a protest immediately after the E.B Green / Top Hat trophy race on the 17th April. I will attach a copy of the protest form to this email.

Thank you and have a great day.
I don't know if it's at all appropriate to be posting these emails because of this....

So lets try to keep this situation hush hush.....to late for that.

Sorry RBYC but I don't plan on calling that GIANT International phone number, I wonder how much that would cost, just to get my name off a mailing list and obviously replying to sender does not work. If I get another email maybe I'll try again....

But I seriously doubt that trying again will work because now I am receiving emails from the....

Another real organization located in Australia. This time my name is Edmund. Ugh....first John and now Edmund. REALLY? These aren't special forign names...why can't I have the name Fabio or Miguel. That would be SO much cooler than John and Edmund. BORING!

On the bottom of the "Congratulations on joining Australia's leading Wine Club. The good news is the rewards begin straight away" email it said click here to be removed from the mailing list. I clicked it and did all the proper steps but NO! I got another one and another one. Seriously Australia do you hate me? I've never been there. I've got no beef with you so what's the deal?

Monthly Update

Turns out I haven't had much time to post. I've been working hard on loads of things. I won't bore you with the details but a few things I have been working on...

My last assignments of the semester. I turned on in one Sunday night and am finishing up the last 2. One is a giant semester project for my interaction design class. Here are just a few of the things that I've had to create for the class in the last 2 weeks. We've been redesigning the UVU Orientation page for the entire semester.

By the way if you notice it looks a lot like the Tom Heal Brochure I made. Yeah, I didn't win. I figured I like the curve design so much why not use it again.

And then in my other class we have a 20-30 image themed project due on Monday at 11:00. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to print them out and post them in a little book. Ugh. I've decided that my theme is downtown provo. I went out on sunday to take some pictures but I don't know how well they turned out. I'm going to have to go back again. I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do with them in photoshop. I don't think I would be freaking out as bad if Michelle wasn't going to be having Virginia (I don't know if she has posted that name yet...sorry michelle.) this week. I've called her every week of this semester asking her about my images and what I could do better with them. If I don't get her opinion by Thursday all is lost. Sad. BAD TIME TO HAVE A MUNCHKIN MICHELLE, can you wait one more week?

I should talk about audrey....

Audrey is getting better at the Alphabet and her numbers. The alphabet she can sing the entire thing...once in a while...sometimes she goes back to old habits and just starts singing any letter she can remember. I figure when the semester is finished I'll start working on the shapes of the letters. I should go and buy flash cards.

As far as the numbers go she can count to 11 perfectly. I don't think she understands what numbers are...yet. We have a hard time getting her to count actual items...but when she wants to count 20 of her toys she'll pass over them and the 20 will quickly be 11. I don't think i explained that quite right.

She still refuses to potty train. We've been working on it and not letting up, just like everyone said to do. She's just not interested in it. She really could careless....Honestly. So we've decided that we're going to keep offering the potty but if she doesn't want to sit we are not going to force it. She's old enough to understand it so when she is ready, we'll be ready. But she's always been like that. She won't do something if we keep pressuring her. She wants to do things on her own time. Eventually she'll do it but when she wants to. I'm going on too long.

Other things that are going on....nothing else of note.

Oh, patrick has is last final of the semester tomorrow. And then he starts his last semester at BYU. HAHAHAHA! I'm excited. Do you realize that we will be one month shy of our 5th year anniversary when he graduates. Ugh! school has been going on WAY WAY WAY tooo long.

I've taken the time to budget out the remainder of my schooling. I will not graduate til April 2012. There is nothing I can do about it. Here is the problem. In order to graduate I have to take senior projects 1 and senior projects 2. I'm going to refer to them as SP1 and SP2. SP1 is only offered in the fall and SP2 is only offered in the spring. Another thing you need to understand is that the 2 classes are actually like 1. You start the senior project in September and it's finished in April. 2 semesters for one project. I'm about 2 classes shy of feeling ready to take SP1. Cinematography 1 and post production. I'm signed up for both for the fall semester and they are not offered in the summer. But I want to finish the two before I even take SP1 but since it's not offered spring semester I have to wait til Fall 2011 to take SP1 and then I will take SP2 spring 2012. UGH! why did I want to go into film? I don't know :(

This post is officially long.
