Swings and Slides

Yesterday was one of the first really really nice days of spring. So we decided to go to the park not too far away and have Audrey play. We first started out on the Swings and she loved it. but then after a while Audrey gave her "I'm so terrified right now" face and we stopped. I think I was a little too confident in her abilities and swung her a little too high. But until that moment she was laughing and smiling and having the best time. We are going to have to make more trips to the park. Hopefully the temperature stays warm so that we can.

After the swings we took Audrey to the slide. And again she just loved every minute of it. She would giggle when i put her at the top. But then would give her "Terror" face on the way down and then when daddy caught her at the bottom she would break out in giggles again. I don't think I have seen anyone go from complete terror to such joy so fast. It was really really funny to watch.

The red tube

After the slide she played in a red tube for a while. She had so much fun crawling into the tube and emerging on the other side. Since she was so excited about the tube Patrick and i took the opportunity to sit in the shade and let her be free. She stayed at the tube and for a while didn't do anything but sit in it. i think she was in the tube for about 5 minutes before she came out. After about 10 minutes of being on her own she came over to us to say hi and then to leave. to go and play on the tube again. After about 15 minutes she seemed a little bored of the tube and started making her way to the slide again. Patrick decided to pick her up and help her. After about 5 or 6 times down we decided that it was time to leave. But once patrick started to walk away from the slide she started to cry and cry. He decided to let her go down a few more times and then when he started walking away again she started to cry again. But we didn't give in. We needed to get home to go to grandma cannons for dinner.

It was just the cutest thing. She really enjoyed the park and I loved that she enjoyed it so much. Like i said we are going to have to make repeated trips to the park this summer.

Blue and White

Audrey Eating a Sandwich

Saturday was the Blue and White game for BYU and of course the offense (Blue) Won! Yeah. What would that mean if the White won? would that mean we have a crappy offense? and an amazing defense? anyway I really don't want to think about football yet. That is still several months away.

Audrey and Daddy together

I just wanted to show you some photos that we took.

Throw that ball guys

Good Catch, Good Catch!

We love the defense!

Yeah! you caught it! Wait...not yet!

Ouchie Reports

Audrey officially has 4 ouchie Reports. 2 that were self inflicted and 2 that she caused harm to another. Do you want to know what she did. She bit someone. My sweet innocent, well not so innocent 15 almost 16 month old bit someone. This last incident happened yesterday. I guess the Day Care got a few new toys. One of the toys happens to be a piano. And I guess audrey really really loves the toy because she had a fight with another kid for the toy and she ended up biting him or her. I'm not sure who it was. I still am in shock.

She had another ouchie report about a month and a half ago and with that one she bit someone too. When Patrick told me that he had to sign an ouchie report I really didn't believe that she had bit someone. From my understanding the teacher was doing something else and wasn't really watching Audrey and the other kid. Yes i have the rose colored glasses on. But not anymore.

I guess the small ones learn to fight dirty.

I find it really really funny. But the question is where is this biting coming from? I've never taught her this and she hasn't really watched anything that has biting as a defense in it. Must be little man syndrome.

It's like the terriers that dad and veniece had. The little annoying things just yapped and yapped and yapped at everyone because they wanted to prove that they were the big man on campus. I hope that this doesn't turn into something later with Audrey. I'm going to ignore that thought and think that my devil/angel will be an angel when she is a teenager. (I can dream can't I?)

(the beginning of this was written yesterday, the rest was written today.)

Audrey bit me last night.

ME!!!!

But it wasn't as a defense or that she was mad at me. She was playing with my hand and she grabbed it and stuck it in her mouth and bit down. I was shocked. I didn't do anything at first. (But it did hurt.) I waited to see if she would do it again. And sure enough about 3 minutes later she grabbed it and bit it. That time i pulled my hand away and told her in a stern voice that we do not bit others. She however thought it was funny and grabbed my hand again and proceeded to try and bite it. I pulled it away again said it in a more stern voice that we do not bite and took her to time out (Which is the crib). She still thought it was funny and continued to laugh until she realized that i was not playing games. After that she started to cry for attention, but i left her there for a few minutes.

Now this posses a real question. Discipline? How do you discipline a 16 month old? My plan for when she was 2 and older was to have her have a timeout chair.
But i don't think she understands that yet. Does anyone have some thoughts or ideas?

Love,
Elizabeth, Patrick and Bity
