Audrey watching a movie

So we are sitting and watching The Incredibles. Patrick and I are sitting on the couch and Audrey on the floor. We're all enjoying the movie and then Patrick and I begin to talk about some thing. As we're talking Audrey turns around, at us, and yells " shhhhhhhh! QUIET!" then turns back around and mumbles "I'm watching the movie." It was pretty funny.

I just love that she's beginning to talk so well and forming sentences with complex words.

Sunday Afternoon Adventure

Yesterday, while we were getting ready for Church, Audrey comes running around the corner from the kitchen to the living room and rams her head into the console table. Patrick went over and kissed the "boo boo" all better, end of story...Right? WRONG.

Later on we're sitting in the foyer of the chapel (we were late...don't judge me) and I notice some dry blood in her hair and on her scalp. I grabbed a baby wipe and started cleaning it up and asked Patrick what happened ( I forgotten about her running into the table) and he reminds me that she ran into the table.I figured she must have scratched her head. Nothing big it just needed to be wiped off. (We're Good Parents, we notice blood on our child 30 minutes after the fact.) Anyway...I start cleaning it an realize that it's not small. She had deep hole in her head...no picture unfortunately. Luckily the woman sitting next to us is "in the medical field" not sure what that means...she did have a first aid kit in her car...anyway she looked at it. She didn't think it was a big deal...and I then suggested we grab, Sherilyn, she's moms next door neighbor and a nurse...so this wonderful woman says that's a good idea and walks off to find her. Goes into the chapel and walks down the aisle to get her. How amazing and generous is that? a few minutes later she comes back with Sherilyn in tow. Sherilyn takes a look..cleans it with some of the first aid stuff, puts a band aid on and said that should do it. Then for the rest of the sacrament meeting Audrey started to get temperamental. Most if not everything set her off and we had to take her into the Young Womans room twice. Patrick and I are convinced that the poor things head really hurts so we hope in the car...go home and give her some Tylenol.

A few hours later I take a look at the wound and notice nothing has changed and I was worried about it getting infected from Day Care. So we hop into the car, yet again, and drive to the insta care to have a doctor look at it. He decides it's nothing serious..she doesn't need a stitch, but he could super glue (sterile Dermabond) it if we wanted. We opted and she now has a large glob of super glue on her head that will be there for about a week. (again no pics)

Here are some pictures I snapped of her in the patient room. She was in pretty good spirits...and was really good about answering the doctors questions and sitting still.

Update on life

He's DONE! Done, Done, Done! One Down, One to go.

Now for the hard part...finding a job. Anyone know of anyone hiring? Anyone? He's going to apply for a position at Blue Host. Today he is working on his resume and then will be emailing it to them. I guess that's all for patrick.

Audrey loved being in Houston with Dad and Veniece. She really likes papa (she came up with that herself) always wants to hold his hand and be with him. It's really cute.

I don't know if I told you...But I applied for a new position on campus in May. A few days ago I got an email saying thanks but no thanks. It didn't hurt too bad since one; I have a pretty good job now and two; I would have felt like I needed to stay for a few years...and that would not have helped Patrick and his job search. I'm hoping he finds something in the area so I could continue to work and go to school but if we have to move away then we need to move away. I'm pretty open at this moment. back to the job....It didn't hurt too much but it did damage the ego a little when I didn't even get an interview....Sad. Especially when I "was 99% sure I would get an interview." Oh Well can't win them all, especially when you put you're eggs in one basket...seriously I didn't apply for anything else. I'll still keep looking. But I honestly don't think I'll get anything better until I have a Bachelors Degree.

We've decided that we need to invest in another car...maybe not until Patrick has a job...but we need one.

This is the car that I want...I think I've convinced Patrick wants it to.

The Kia Sorento.

All because of this super awesome commercial....great job kia marketing.

okay so it wasn't just the commercial that made me want the car. You have to admit it is a pretty awesome commercial...but it did make me search about the car...and I think it's what I/we want.

Audrey is doing great she just got her hair cut again. In the past we've gone to Cookie Cutters an all kids salon. But their not very good..so we went to Fantastic Sams. This was the first time Audrey got her hair washed in the sink. She did great...but was nervous about it...it was really funny to watch.

She adjusted well going back to daycare...most kids, they said, have a hard time adjusting when they have been gone so long. But she did great. There were no problems..I'm so proud of my well adjusted little one. She loves to be with other kids.

We're planning on taking her to Toy Story tonight. It's funny I never would have imagined that a movie I saw when I was eleven years old would have a sequel when I had a child of my own. I never thought I would be bringing my own little one to a Toy Story.  I'm pretty excited about it. :) Audrey already saw the movie on Saturday with Grandma Spencer, But I don't think she'll mind.

Well I think that's it.

Back from Vacation

Audrey and I joined Grandma, Mom, Michelle, Dan and Baby Virginia in Washington D.C. for a week. We were there from Wednesday May 26-June 2nd. We had a lot of fun and did a lot.

Unfortunately, I am not in the mood to type so I'll just post a million and a half pictures. FYI all were taken on my iphone! I love it!

I am warning you now...this post is really long! I counted 95 pictures...that is about 1/3 of the pictures I took. Sorry

Day One - Ford's Theater, The house where Lincoln died, Arlington National Cemetery, & the World War II Memorial.

Day Two - Gettysburg

Audrey really liked Dan...I hope he wasn't annoyed

Cemetery Ridge

Little Round top is on the left and Big Round top is on the right

From the top of Little Round top

again from the top of little round top

Day Three - The Smithsonian's, the Pentagon Memorial

Seriously I want the new iphone with the flash...no more blurry pictures!

Day four - Old Town Alexandria...Silly me I only took like 3 pictures...and this was one of them...it was really hot and humid that day...and we did more than just old town...but I can't remember what we did. I  remember now...mom, michelle, dan and Virginia went to the concert at the capitol..I stayed home (at the hotel) with grandma.

Bored Yet?

Day Five - Memorial Day - Air Force Memorial Ceremony, Air Force Memorial,

I didn't get pictures of the ceremony since I was spending more time making sure audrey would be quiet and that she would stop eating food off the floor. She keeps pretending to be a Kitty Cat and she will eat food off the floor by licking it up. It was pretty gross. It's funny when she is in this character she will respond to kitty and will do what I ask her to do. If I say Audrey she'll ignore me. Funny :)

Horrible picture of me...

This is the wreath mom and grandma bought to honor grandpa and his squadron

I love the shadow in this picture...michelle was jealous she did not get a picture of it. WAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Back to Arlington to Honor Grandpa

Day Six - Back to Arlington...one last time, The National Zoo, The top of the Washington Monument.

Watergate!

The Zoo

This lion decided to teach audrey about the birds and the bees early...but then the lioness ran away and then the lion roared. I've never heard a lion roar at the Zoo. It was pretty cool.

On our way to Washington Monument

I guess that's it. I'll post about Texas later...Sorry.
