Our journey to Califronia

Mom and I made a trip out to california this weekend to visit great grandma cannon.
Our flight was at 6:10 on Thursday morning. That meant we needed to be up no later than 4 to be out the door before 4:30 so that we could leave mom's by 4:40. Well, we all know mom and we didn't get out the door until closer to 5:00. (i think we actually left a little after 5) We originally thought that the flight left at 6:30 so we were in no big hurry. Then I looked at the ticket and found out that we were leaving at 6:10 . That was not a good moment, by the way.
We ended up getting to the airport at about 5:4o (go speedy). Mom took advantage of not having a 1 and a half year old and ran the entire way to the plane and made it just as they were calling our boarding party. I however was unable to run too fast with a stroller, a diaper bag, and my own bag. I got there when they were calling out the B boarding group and i walked right on the plane. no waiting. how awesome is that!

Once on the plane the stewardist told me that i had to have audrey on my lap during take off. Audrey had other plans and was not too happy about having to be on my lap for that long of a period of time and decided to release her frustrations by crying. And mind you she does not have a quiet cry. About 15 minutes after take off she was still crying sitting in the seat next to be (by that time i had moved her off my lap.) i asked if she wanted to fall asleep in my arms. She gave a little nod and crawled into my lap and then fell asleep for the remainder of the flight. Which then gave me an opprotunity to sleep. (It was nice.)

from door to door..including sitting at a stop in traffic for about 25 minutes..the journey only took about 5 and a half hours. Not bad.

By the way just a reminder never stop for something to eat at the McDonalds close to LAX. (we wanted to get audrey some pancakes to munch on while we drove to grandmas') Mom and I were approached by a guy claiming that he had just gotten out of prison and was looking for something to eat. Not wanting to create anything we bought him some pancakes.
My theory is that he approached us because we were two women, who obviously looked like we came from LAX and since we had a baby in the car, we would be too afraid to refuse him. Which is true. I don't think he would have approached us if Patrick was in the car. Next time we'll head down the 405 a little bit before grabbing something to eat.

Love ya all,
Elizabeth, Patrick and Audrey
