Big Girl Bed Update

Like I said Audrey had her first night in a "big girl" bed. So here's what happened.

She went down great.... Well, not at first. She was way way to excited about the big girl bed, and the bedding, and was running around screaming because she was so excited. Except that when she gets excited, or any kid for that matter, too close to bed, she doesn't want to go to sleep, and she got really angry. And wouldn't stop crying. I thought we were going to have a visit from the vomit fairy, she really was that upset.

But I successfully calmed her down. And we had no issues.

We did however have 2 minor problems."

1. She fell out of bed in the middle of the night.


2. She woke up at 5:30 and started walking around.

It was really funny. I woke up to the pitter patter of little feet. I, then, tapped Patrick on the shoulder and told him we had a little monster running around. He took it that i was telling him to go and get her, and he jumped up to go get her. But did it so fast that I didn't have enough time to turn on the bed side lamp and he ran into her at the same time she said "hi daddy." it scared him so much that he screamed. And then I laughed.

However, when it came around for her nap she wouldn't stay in bed so partrick ended up putting the front back on. I took it off for bed tonight. I'm really excited about the big girl bed. Anyway that's the update.

Big Girl Bed

This is going to be really quick. Today I took the front part of audreys crib off, making it a toddler bed, and went to walmart and bought her new bedding. I had given her the choice of Disney princess or tinkerbell. She chose the Disney princess pattern. It has bell, Cinderella, and arora. It's cute. I'll take a picture for you.

Back to what this is about....as we speak Audrey is in her new "big girl" bed, asleep. Well, I don't know about asleep but she is quiet. I'll let you know how it all goes in the morning.

She is no longer a baby. Sad.

Nothing Has Been Happening

Sorry that I have not posted anything in a while. To be honest nothing really to interesting has been happening. Patrick has been taking classes and has been focusing on them non stop. Because of that we really haven't gone and done anything. I guess here are a few things that has been going on.

Carrie and Nate had a pool party on Saturday. It was fun..but cold. The first cold day in months and it landed on the day of a pool party. That's okay we spent the majority of the time talking. I enjoyed myself. however I accidentally got water in Audrey's mouth and the poor thing started to gag and gag and then threw up in the hot tub. It was wonderful. We just turned on the bubbles and the filter did the clean up work.

Audrey is starting to say 5 and 6 word sentences. It's quite nice. We can understand her (and by we I mean patrick, most of the time I have no idea what she is saying) a lot more than we used to. It's really been nice being able to communicate.

She is learning her shapes. We'll show her a circle flash card and out of 5 cards in front of her she can pick out the circle shape that matches. I hope that makes sense. She is also learning her colors. She'll show us things that are pink and green and blue...now mind you this is a very very recent discover like a week old. we're really proud.

She can count to 3 and has problems to 7. But she is starting to understand numbers. We're working on the alphabet but I don't know when she'll start know what the letters are. We'll just keep working.

We are slowly working on potty training. She is not at all interested in it. And I don't want to push the subject and have it turn into a disaster. She has gone about 3 times on the potty and understands what it is. But I figure when she is ready she is ready and she'll let us know.

I'm going to start taking classes this fall. It's been 2 and a half years since I've taken any classes. When was Audrey born? yeah that's right 2 and a half years ago. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. It will be fun. I'm taking digital photography and composition 1 and Digital Storyboarding. I wish I could go full time...but I'm lucky Keith is letting me take classes without having to make up the time. Don't I work in the best office ever?

Patrick will be moving into his final semesters. Yes, that's right he'll be graduating next year. He's taking classes this fall, and then in the spring and then will take his capstone the first term of summer. So He'll be done next June. You have not idea how excited I am about that.
