What's been Happening? part 2

Michelles Graduation

Oh my word I can not tell you how boring it was. At least convocation was boring. Commencement was actually really entertaining. We got to see all the graduates walk into the room, which took forever, and then it actually wasn't that bad after that. they took the proper amount of time to introduce everyone on the stand it took as long as it needed to. It was very nice.

President Monson was the speaker for the Commencement Ceremony. It was really great to hear him talk in person. I've always enjoyed hearing him talk and to be truthful, although he talks on many many great subjects, I've always just enjoyed listening to the sound of his voice. It's very peaceful and relaxing.

here is an example of him speaking for those who don't hear him very often. listen for just a few minutes it's really peaceful.

But about 5 mintues into his talk one of the graduates fainted and was just lying in the middle of the floor. So for the remainder of his speech I was interested in the commotion around her. The police, emts and anyone else who felt they could help were running around distracting me. I felt bad...but not too bad since the speech was meant for the graudates and not me. Michelle and most of the other graduates were not even aware of the woman.

Then convocation...it took 2 hours. A convocation should not take 2 hours. They had 4 speakers the dean, 2 valedvictorians (both spoke for about 10 minutes), and the main speaker (30 mintes....yes 30!) and on top of that....since it's the arts they had 4 performances. the theater department sang, someone danced and the chior sang 2 songs. There was too much junk. It was very very annoying. And I'm sort of getting mad thinking about it. I had better stop.

Then we went to Mimi's Cafe for lunch. It took them an hour to get our food out. there was only 2 other parties in the room. We were all so pissed. Again another memory i would like to forget and I'm getting mad thinking about it.

all in all it was a horrible horrible day. But it was Michelles graduation so it was good.

Love,
Elizabeth, patrick and Audrey
